Rfactor 2 track conversion
Interesting guide, makes a strong case for Rfactor 2 if tracks can be easily converted across. Just need same doing for the cars

I tried to convert my btcc 2011 mod to rfactor2 but got a bit lost and gave up. I'm sure its not that difficult if you have the time to go through it all a few times though.

Have watched the track conversion video, all that going backwards and forwards with files from the original and the newly created ones, the copy/paste here and there and all over the place and i got lost.
As neil said needs going over a few times breaking the steps down to make it easier.
How to convert the cars?

Don't know about the cars Alan, but i know Chris said he may have a go. If/When we decide if Rfactor 2 is for us, then we'll maybe have a team effort at it.

Re: Rfactor 2 track conversion
I think its the same as anything new, at first it all looks and sounds gobbledegook but in reality once ypu do it a few times it all makes perfect sense. I think weve all been spoilt with how easy rfactor is to mod and as rfactor2 has afew more processes involved it will always seem too complex at first.

Yea i agree there, was the same when i started converting airport scenery from MSFS/FSX to X-PLANE format, seemed complicated at first then was second nature after a while.
Then someone brings out a bit of software that do's it all for you.

First time i sat down to do the BTCC mod frazzled my brain! Seems easy now though. Was same with first time doing custom liveries in photoshop. Currently trying to learn how to do 3D renders..also mind boggling

Eventually I'll have a go. It does look like I'll need to buy some software first though (3DSimEd I think it was called). I need money for more important things at the minute though.
