rFactor and the 4 GB patch
Maybe all know, rfactor is a 32 bit programm, in that case it will never use more then 2 GB RAM. But there is little programm out named 4 GB patch, which you can use on every 32 bit application to let them use nearly 4 GB, which is maximum on 32 bit.
The Download Link can be found in our Download area, just unpack and start it, search your rfactor.exe and patch it. Done.
This will work with the original rfactor.exe as with the NoDVD one.

Re: rFactor and the 4 GB patch
Do you have toi run the patch each time you start RFactor or does it work everytime once installed?

Right Neil, once patched you wont need patching again.
Re: rFactor and the 4 GB patch
ok, get ready for a possible stupid question...
I have the 64bit version of windows... yes I can hear some of you are one step ahead and smirking at what's coming next (behave!), do I still need the patch and if so is it because of the limitations of rFactor as opposed to the limitations of my cpu?

Easy answer: yes. Why?
Your system is 64 bit and can handle more then 4 GB, but rFactor is an old 32 bit programm, which can handle at maximum 4 GB normally. But rFactor is a special one, it can only handle up to 2 GB. Some older programms based on 32 bit are doing this, dont know why. The patch writes a little code into you rf.exe to let it use 4 GB instead of 2.
