GMWC October Endurance Race @ Sears Point
http://gridmotorsports.com/forum/league/822637625/view
I am hosting an endurance race at Grid on the 22nd of October. We will be using the GMWC mod (specifically the GT cars), although I am not 100% sure as to the version of the mod we will be using at that point. The race is going to be held at Sears Point Raceway and is TENTATIVELY scheduled to be 1.5 hours in length. The length of the race is still changeable though it will be no shorter than 1.2 hours.
I would really like to see as many of you turnout as possible. Generating a big turnout for an event like this is huge for having a successful event, and as many of you are former GMWC drivers you know the ins and outs of racing there. I'm hoping a one-off event could be doable for those here who left because they disliked the grind of what racing at GMWC on a regular basis became. I will be attempting to create baseline setups for each of the cars.
Any questions can be directed to me here, or you are also more than welcome to address them at the GMWC site.
Thanks,
Zack

Re: GMWC October Endurance Race @ Sears Point
Just giving everyone a reminder about the racing coming up this weekend at Grid. I'll have some setups posted over there this afternoon, although they will be a bit rough. It would be really great to have y'all turn out and get us a great turnout and starting grid.
Hope to see everyone there this weekend.
BTW, there is a new mod version here: http://gridmotorsports.com/client

Blimey...they still have a nearly 1GB mod download?
Sorry but after I was accused of leaving GMWC under false reasoning and poaching members for WSVR when that wasn't the case i'm not inclined to return. Besides i'd rather spend the time on our GT mod which will kick ass.....
No objection you promoting an event that doesnt clash with our league events though. Be good to have you on track here again though

Re: GMWC October Endurance Race @ Sears Point
Were's the post on that, if any? I've not seen it around the GMWC site. And for supposedly poaching members from GMWC to race at WSVR is bollocks.
I left GMWC not only because it was too strenuous, but because I had lost interest in the hardcore mentality the league is based around. I don't have 6-8hrs spare a week to work on a setup only to find I'm not competitive in the race. And as a result, found it became rather boring. So racing at WSVR is much better for me (time wise) and with a more friendly atmosphere.
I'm happy at WSVR, and glad to assist in whatever way possible.

Re: GMWC October Endurance Race @ Sears Point
Since we have lost a large percentage of our members, its been hard to keep the races competitive. I've won a couple and I hardly practice much, but I chalk that up to a lot of you guys leaving and making the league less competitive (which is what happens when you go from races of 12-14 to races of 5-7).
Sorry that the mod is still so large... I know that probably turns away numerous people.
I'm hoping to get on track with you guys soon. Time is just a little tight on fridays.
