Steering wheel and pedals

Thinking of buying a new wheel and pedals, the one i have is starting to fail again, can only repair so many times.
Anyway thinking of a Logitech G27, i know they are a lot of dollars but from what i hear and have read they are pretty sturdy and very reliable.
Got to be better than the one i have at the moment.
So has anyone got one of these who can tell me if any good or not, or anyother wheels/pedals sets that are just as good.
Not interested in the FANATEC wheels but might get a set of their club pedals.

Dont know about the G27 but i've had the Logitech GT force for a while now and very good wheel.

I have a G25 at the minute. Had one since it was released in 2007 and it's now showing its age after 5 years of use and abuse, the sequential shifter doesn't work anymore, the right paddle spring has worn out and the wheel centre 'dead zone' has increased to about 20 degrees either way - very difficult to keep a car going straight!

It is my second G25, I had one of the original 'faulty' batch of G25s where the shifter was known to stop working (which mine did after 3 months), Logitech's warranty got it replaced with the "v2" G25 within a week though.

Other than those issues (which are purely down to age I think) I've been pretty happy with it, the pedals are still like new, which can't be said for my past wheels all of which had pedal issues (Logitech Momo, an old Thrustmaster Ferrari, and another one I can't remember to make/model of, think it was logitech though).

The only thing is that all of the G25 and G27 wheels have this centre dead zone on the force feedback, it's about 5 degrees where there's no force feedback at all in the centre, it's purely so the motors don't burn each other out. It's a bit strange at first, but you get used to it - I never liked it, but was a small price to pay for a great wheel.

One thing to consider with the G27 is that it doesn't have a sequential shifter mode, it's H-pattern or paddles.

I'm hopefully going to look at a new wheel in the new year - definitely going for Fanatec, probably one of their expensive new wheels.

Got a Logitec GT myself and love it. If you can do without a clutch pedal its perfect for the price

Got a G25 and had it for about 3 years, maybe more, I have had to replace a potentiometers a couple of times but that easy and there only a couple of £ each. I would buy a G27 if this one went tits up.. Go for it.....

Thinking about it I've probably had it for over 5 years.

+1. For a price of around 120€ you cant get a better wheel, all Thrustmaster wheels at this price are crap.

Have been looking around,looked at the thrustmaster T500,Logitech G27. Both nice wheels but also a nice price as well. The build quality good on both but the price puts me off some what.
I only use my wheel for the races on here now and no other leagues so wont be getting much use.
Have decided to give the Logitech DSGT a go after xmas, may not have a clutch pedal or same status as a G27 but it uses the same running gear and performance not a lot of difference. And for about a third of the price.

Wait till the first week of the new year and watch on ebay. Best time to catch a christmas present

Yeah, maybe you have luck, Im searching for a G27 too.

From my past experiences you'd do well to keep away from Thrustmaster.

I had a gamepad from them that lasted about 2 months, a wheel that was DOA and another wheel which JUST after it went out of warranty decided that the centre was 45 degrees away from where it should have been - the brake pedal pot also broke and a couple of the buttons stopped working.

The T500 may be different, but I made the Thrustmaster mistake enough times!
