TC3 ....the new NGTC? Empty TC3 ....the new NGTC?

Interest in TC3 regulations really seems to be growing giving a newer lower cost formula for teams to go racing. Could it be the end or eventually replace NGTC? Relative costs are much lower, I wonder what the relative performance would be.

I like NGTC but would be great to have a common formula across Europe again like the Super Touring days.

I'm not sure, I like the look of the NGTC cars, as long as TC3 doesn't have the ridiculous wheelarch extensions seen in WTCC then I guess it could be good. I just can't get away with how silly the current TC1 WTCC cars look.

I'm also worried that you'll see one team/car running away in TC3 like in the TC1 regs with Citroen. With NGTC there's equalisation built into the regs which as proven over the last 2 years works. The BTCC hasn't been this popular since Super Touring.

I think NGTC will remain on top at least in this country, the FIA are out of touch with touring car racing I think, so I can't see these TC3 regs taking off. I think NGTC aims for longer term savings as when teams build new cars they can carry parts over from their old one.

I'd prefer to see NGTC also but the costs are higher than planned. Will watch TC3 with interest.

I also agree on TC1--- not watched it at all this year and would not be surprised to see it die off within 3 years. £500,000 build cost for a touring car is far too high and that's before the expense of an international schedule.

Lets not forget that Alan Gow is president of the FIA touring car commission still so its surprising NGTC has not spread its wings further
