BTCC 2014 B Round 1

This is a A and B license event only. C license grade drivers are welcome to take part in practice but not permitted to compete in the race or qualifying sessions.

Official practice from 20:30 (21:30 CET)
Drivers Briefing 20:55 (21:55 CET)
15 min Qualifying -21:00 (22:00CET)
Race 1 -21:20 (22:15CET)
Race 2 -21:50 (22:40CET)
Race 3 - 22:20 (23:15 CET)

Races are 16 laps

Please ensure new season mod installed and working before the event and you are aware of the season rule changes.

Please listen in for admin briefing, notices and Q&A via Teamspeak even if you do not have or wish to use a microphone.

May not be able to make it tonight but hope to be there for race 2&3 but can't be sure.

Not to my liking this track never get anywhere near with it, last year so far back put the car in to auto & tootled around lol

My apologies to glen for ruining his race last night, i had to change to my old G25 last night and on a few occasions the car just wouldnt slow down, one minute i had normal brakes next seemed like 75% brakes, so really sorry glen. Then to top it all off the electric went off.

It didn't hurt him too much Neil, he won the 2nd race!

Apologies for lack of the english broadcast, sound issues at the end prevented me from continuing the broadcast, i hope it wont happen again

Well done to all drivers new and old who took part last night.. Few spins and shunts to look at but seemed to be good racing all round.

No worries Neil! As Chris said I got a win for the team and then a 5th from 8th, now we really need to work to catch M-Sport ahah!

I'd like to echo this, especially good seeing some new guys towards the front (thinking Graham and Dene), hopefully it continues this way all season!

I really struggled on brakes after lap 10 of each race, not sure why but suddenly I couldn't slow the car down.

Race 1 had a great fight with Mats at the start, made a mistake and lost time, eventually came across the line in 2nd place.
Race 2 was down to the weight, went off track while leading. Eventually got stuck in a scrum and came off worst going nearly 4 wide into the last corner! Had nearly no brakes for the last 2 laps of the race and struggled home in 4th.
Race 3 had a really good start and got into 3rd by turn 1, lost a load of time to Matt and Dene. Eventually caught Dene but Matt was too far ahead. a 1-2 for MSport GTR will do just nicely for me though.

yep good round for M-sport GTR team...    race 3 win was bonus for me, first home track Rockingham win in BTCC.  Close scare through as edited set-up for race 3 from my base set-up which has 2L less than what i used for race 1&2. Started the last lap with 1.6 litres in the tank ans really had to lift and fuel save. Engine started to stutter in last chicane and crossed the line with 0.3L left

As Chris said, great performance from Dene, almost felt guilty passing him in race 3 . Also great race from Graham, really drove well when I was trying to pass in race 2

Have to agree, what Markus and me have seen in the Live Stream was all very good racing, some little contacts but not that heavy, maybe Neils problem was the only harder contact on Glenn so far.

Dont forget that many good drivers have missed that round, like Braam, Mason, Horton, Mead, Crain, Spooner, Dixon and more. If they will be back on the grid it will be again much closer, and thats good for the live broadcast too

Thx guys It has been better than i expected (considering this is not one of my favorite tracks)
Feel bad for the braking mistake on first lap in race 2, after the incident i stoped my car and whait all drivers to pass me, but i deserve penalty no doubt. Race 3 i was doing my best to make some distance in first couple od laps, but at the same time i had to save tires so i can finish in top5 becouse i know that guys from behind are much quicker than me so i was sure that sooner or later they gonna catch me. all at all i'm happy with the results and all the great battles. Looking forward to next one. Cheers

Had some great races last night. Highlights have to be fighting with matt in race 2 and with guest i think it was in race 3. Got some decent finishing positions too
