Re: BTCC 14 season one - R2 Knockhill - postponed
I have to say I've never driven so defensively in my life - especially in races 1 and 2!
Got a decent start in race 1, got into 2nd. Dan Hahn quickly got back past me again, eventually I got passed him a few laps later. Suddenly the battle for 2nd became a battle for the lead when Mats made a mistake through the chicane. What ensued was a monumental battle for the win. Somehow Neil managed to get both of us to take the win when we were fighting into the hairpin - I can't remember how though and my replay file for race 1 has disappeared.
Race 2, got a good start from 2nd and got into the lead. Had a gap for about 3 laps until Dan's Citroen was right behind me once again. This time managed to keep him back for the whole race, despite 35kg. It was 22 laps of torture! My arms and shoulders were aching after that through hanging on - maybe my FFB was too high!
Race 3 from 9th with 45kg, kept in touch for the first few laps and found myself in 5th, dropped back again due to weight and tyre wear and then ended up back in 5th again which I held until the end.
Races 1 and 2 were probably 2 of the most enjoyable and most difficult races I've ever had in 10 years of sim racing (certainly up there with when I beat Nic Hamilton at Thruxton in a Seat Toledo many years ago!), huge amount of respect between drivers at the front, I hope it continues for the rest of the season!

Hope someone can look at that pass chris, i thought at least one of you was going to lose control so i moved left to avoid everything and just came back on track, was thinking maybe i might gain one position but did not expect to be in front of both of you. Was not sure if i should have given any places back but will take any penalty dished out if its needed.

Re: BTCC 14 season one - R2 Knockhill - postponed
I defo agree some great racing last night. Shame I could not do race 3 as the power went off
In both races I found I was bumper to bumper with many other cars even through the corners! Overtaking proved extremely difficult and the cicain caused a fair few 2 wheelers! At least this year I din't flip over the barrier causing me all sorts of problems
I hope the next race is as fun and competitive as knockhill was!
