Grabbed this the other day on the sale just to see what the hype is about. To be honest I'm underwhelmed.. sure it looks pretty nice and well OK but somethings lacking, not sure what.

Seems to support high end wheels also but my Logitech driving force isn't on the list and after an hour trying to set it up right I gave up for now.

Compared with the latest build of RF2, i can find little to differentiate the two graphically and if your looking for a new year treat I'd suggest your cash is better spent on the ISI product

Yep I'd agree. There's so much hype around AC and I don't see why.

Yes there are some great car/track combinations - anything around Imola is a blast, particularly the Group A M3, Arbath 500, and the Ferrari 599XX around Monza is also amazing. But you get that in any sim, I'm having far more fun with the BTCC Civic at Croft in rF2 at the minute than any car/track on AC.

It has potential I think, but I get much more of a feel for the car in rF2.

Still early days yet, and I can't even run more than 10 cars on my computer so I'll be having to upgrade  Sad

Spent a lot of time on the long weekend giving RF2 some good proper running time along with Asseto Corsa and Project cars. Still really enjoying RF2 and the NGTC cars especially.

So updated to the latest builds of Asseto Corsa and project cars also. Still not at all sold by AC, i find the cars look nice enough but the track and graphics environments look odd. Graphically i think RF2 has stepped ahead of AC now despite the DX11 offered by AC. Cars are OK to drive but even the GT3 race cars feel a little soft to me. You can hammer them hard straight out of the pits and get them sliding and drifting like your a driving hero. I suspect its this type of driving that's getting folks worked up and excited but for a supposed sim focus, it feels more arcade than RF2.

Project cars though has come a long way, wont be a league multiplayer platform but good visuals, slightly arcade like nice single player mode. Can see me driving that some more, not Asseto Corsa

Now I see why people are hyping AC.

I've spent the best part of the last 3 days playing it, and after some updates it's a completely different sim. I can now feel the cars through the wheel properly, the physics seem almost spot on. Online is pretty good too, there's always a server with people racing in it, whereas rF2 is plagued by empty servers for most of the day.

The modding community seems to be a lot more active, there's a lot of WIP mods available, and by the look of it a lot of rF modding teams have gone to AC rather than rF2.

I hate to say it, but I think when AC leaves early access stage it'll be a better sim than rF2.

RF2 still provides weather and day/night which is lacking from AC....but at the rate the modders are taking to AC its still needs to be watched very carefully. We've committed to RF2 for now but we can run both or switch at later stage.

If 90% of the community have gone the AC route then we cant ignore that fact. ISI seriously need to change some things on their mod approach and embrace DX11 or i fear they will get left behind.

Atm we have 3 future sims, pcars, rf2, ac and maybe raceroom. If you see all the modding projects you cant ignore that ac will overtake all others easily within the next 6-12 months.

pCARS can be discounted straight away as it's not moddable, and really the physics aren't that great either. It just looks good. I'm not sure about the modability of RaceRoom, I've never really tried it either. I think we should be watching AC and rF2 as they will be the "purest" sims especially for modding.

Race room will have no mods, impossible. Just some more experience s like dtm.
its up to ac or rf2. And in my eyes ac will soon become the same big modding community as rf1.

Having spoken Michael Hinz (Head of Raceroom at KW Suspension) it will never be a modifiable sim, nor will you be able to make skins. They want to turn it into an alternative to iracing and open "race centers" all across Europe.

Yeah well Simbin appear to have their own issue at the minute anyway... RF2 and AC will be the future for league racing generally i think

Seems Madcowie has defected to AC as well, wondering wether its worth carrying on and learning rf2 track technology/conversions and maybe start on AC tracks instead. not tried AC as yet and will wait till i know which direction we are going to take. dont want to speng money on a sim that we may not use. these days i only use the sim we use here, not got a lot of time for other platforms at the moment.

Still very much on RF2 track Alan, may dip into AC too but for league racing RF2 does still seem best platform for what we need.

Personally i still cant see AC being a big step, if at all over RF2....just think its more user friendly for modders
