Woundering if anyone using a TV as a monitor, bought a 29" led and is ok, but seem to get some motion blurr and i think i may be getting some input lag as well which after a while gives me eye strain.
I have read on some forums this is a regular problem in using a tv instead off a monitor.
Also in rf2 garage/carsetups, the tire temps numerals are a thick red graphics and on the tv i can hardly make them out as they are just like a splat on the screen.
Would appreciate any advice as to eliminating this problem. If not i suppose will have to pay the extra dollar for a monitor of simular size.

is it just rfactor 2 or RF1 also?

No idea about using a TV instead of monitor but i also want to upgrade to a bigger screen from my crappy 17inch monitor when budget permits.

Get a monitor.

I used to use my 32" Samsung LED TV as a monitor when I lived with my parents, it was mostly terrible (despite being a very, very good TV!) so I switched back to my 22" monitor which was 4 years older tech, but much, much better.

The problem is response time, In most PC monitors response time (the amount of time it takes the pixels to react) is very low, my monitor for example is 2ms, most good PC monitors are around 5ms. TV's on the other hand manufacturers rarely state the response time of because there's no point - it's too high! My TV I think has around a 16-20ms response time. When playing PC games you can see it in the form of blur because the picture isn't keeping up with the motion of racing.

If you're looking at a new monitor then keep an eye on response time 5ms or below will do you fine - avoid cheap ones too. Also consider the distance you sit away from the monitor, if I was getting a new monitor myself I wouldn't go any bigger than 24" and would probably go for an IPS panel rated at 5ms response time. If not IPS then a TN panel rated at 2ms. (IPS has better colour definition, but higher response time compared to TN)

I was considering a new monitor when I get a new graphics card, but then I saw this and I'm going to hold off: Very Happy

You may need some modifications to both sets of head wear first, but it'll be doable. Wink

Those goggles do look the bizz but how long b4 they are for sale to the public.
Need to sort this before the second part of the BTCC and BTC season.
May have to look for a monitor then. Could do with a new TV for the bedroom anyway.

Thanks for the info guys and that beer holder looks good chris, wonder if they do one for tea cups.
